ASSSSCAT is UCB’s signature improv show that has played to critical acclaim and sold out audiences across the country.

What is ASSSSCAT?

 

It starts with a group of improv comedians from film & TV taking the stage with a special guest monologist. After getting a suggestion from the audience, our monologist shares off-the-cuff thoughts, feelings, and true stories inspired by your suggestion. The improvisers then spin this monologue into a series of scenes that will show you why ASSSSCAT is one of the longest running improv shows in the world!

Previous NY monologists include: Mark Hamill, Alan Alda, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Ellie Kemper, Kevin Bacon, Jessica Williams, Phoebe Robinson, Kathleen Turner, Paul Shaffer, Daniel Dae Kim, Conan O’Brien, and more!

BARCELONA: Midweek Crisis

Midweek Crisis is Barcelona’s weekly stand-up comedy showcase with a twist — comedians don’t just tell jokes, they also solve the audience’s problems.

Hosted by the dynamic duo Mariah Girouard and Mila Kopaeva, this midweek comedy clinic features around 7 sharp, international comedians, each performing a short stand-up set before taking on real-life dilemmas submitted anonymously by the audience.

Whether it's relationship woes, work stress, or awkward social encounters, the comics give it their best (and funniest) shot. The result is a high-energy, interactive comedy show that blends therapeutic catharsis with sharp punchlines and spontaneous crowd work.

Set in The Rumpus Room at The Comedy Clubhouse: Canvis Nous, the atmosphere is fun, friendly, and slightly chaotic in the best way. Tickets are just €8 online, €10 at the door, and only €7 each for groups of 4 or more, making this one of the best value nights out in the city. 🐶: This is a dog-friendly event recommended for audience members ages 18+. Well-socialized dogs that are people- and dog-friendly and up to date on all vaccinations as per NYC law are welcome to attend and will be on leash during the event.

Join us for the world premiere of The Sound Guy, an improvised mockumentary film featuring a cast of New York’s brightest improv and Broadway performers.

The Paberbill Playhouse, a beloved community theater in a small town in New Jersey, is set to close. Enter a charming director and con artist claiming to be a descendant of Meredith Wilson, the creator of The Music Man, with lofty promises to save both this theater and the institution of theatre itself.

After his identity is revealed, he skips town, leaving the actors to pick up the pieces. Not only do they no longer have a director, they realize they don’t even have the rights to the musical and must rewrite it to protect themselves from being sued by Sam French, himself. Thus is born The Sound Guy. A student documentarian agrees to capture the entire process: revealing the perseverance of the motley crew of theatermakers and bringing to light the underlying problems within an industry that doesn’t want to change.Starring Bonnie Milligan (Tony Award, Kimberly Akimbo), Kuhoo Verma (Plan B), Joel Perez (Tick, Tick…Boom!) and more!
