The Oscars 2 Months Early at Legion

theoscars2 weeksearlyat legion.jpg

In honor of the Oscar Nominations on January 23, THE ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURES is hosting the entire Oscar Ceremony 2 Months Early at Legion Bar

This is both unprecedented and ill-advised considering the votes have not been tallied and the nominations have yet to be announced; however, we all remember when LA LA LAND won Best Picture for 30 seconds so nothing is off the table.

Featuring celebrity impressions by
Ali Levin
Evan Samuels
Eddie Dougrou
Seth Alkon Finkelstein

and scenes from Oscar Nominated Films That Don't Exist by
Bronson Improv

With a Red Carpet for photos and Black Tie attire for all Nominees, Guests, and Seat Fillers (you know which one you are).

Providence, RI

The Tank's Flint & Tinder series presents the world premiere of

PROVIDENCE, RI
by Skylar Fox and Simon Henriques
produced by Nightdrive, in association with Fortress Productions

There’s this town. All these people live there. There are all these places they live in. And eat at. And avoid. And die in. It’s the kind of town you hear about and think: “I should take a trip up there. For the fall colors.” But you never do. Tonight is all about this town. And its people. And their places. There are also giant squirrels in this town, and memorial dances, and a set of quintuplets mysteriously separated at birth—but we’ll get to them later. Providence, RI explores how people build towns, how towns build memories, and how those memories build new people and towns altogether.

Directed by Skylar Fox
Assistant Directed by Emily Garrison
Executive Produced by Jenny Gorelick
Co-Produced by Alex Donnelly, Fortress Productions

Featuring: Ava Langford, Chloe Joy Ivanson, Danielle Guido, Simon Henriques, and Zina Ellis

Lighting Design by Christopher Annas-Lee
Costume Design by Corina Chase
Sound Design by Alex Ostroff
Set Design by Skylar Fox

Performances are over three weekends:
Fri. Jan 13 - Sun. Jan 15 at 7PM
Thurs. Jan 19 - Sun. Jan 22 at 7PM
Thurs. Jan 26 - Sun. Jan 29 at 7PM, with an additional 3PM performance on Sun. 1/29

Buy your tickets now!
http://www.thetanknyc.org/theater/657-providence-rhode-island/
Tickets are sliding scale: $15 for the first weekend, $18 for the second weekend, and $20 for the third and final weekend.

Nightdrive makes inventive, funny, strange plays that push theatrical boundaries in order to communicate with audiences in new and exciting ways. Their work has been produced at Ice Factory at the New Ohio, Ars Nova, the Brick, Fresh Ground Pepper, the Flea, and the Orange Tea Theatre in Amsterdam, and their show ...Apathy Boy was a 2015 O’Neill finalist.
